Position Title: Fitter-Welder

Location: Howell, MI

Pay Rate: $20-30/HR

Fitter-Welder Job Responsibilities

1. Perform MIG & TIG welding on both carbon steel and stainless steel

2. Perform various types of welding techniques including butt welds on piping/tubing

3. Fabricate parts for assembly build out

4. Machine parts to drawing specifications

5. Fit pipe in space

6. Lead various fabrication jobs with minimal guidance

Fitter-Welder Job Requirements

1. Highly skilled in MIG, TIG, and flux core welding of carbon and stainless steel

2. Highly skilled at various types of welding techniques and processes, including butt welding

3. Able to setup and operate orbital welding machines

4. Build/fabricate from CAD drawings with minimal guidance

5. Pass radiography

6. Familiar with ASME qualifications

7. Operate basic machinery such as a lathe, drill press, grinders, various types of saws

8. Be able to fill out work order time and material usage

9. Follow standard manufacturing safety practices and requirements

10. Ability to lift, push, pull weights in the 0-85 lb range

11. Ability to operate fork lift trucks

12. Ability to and experience in rigging weights up to 1 ton

Work Environment:

1. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment. This position has a traditional work schedule that requires five (5) eight (8) hour days during a Monday through Friday work schedule. Overtime is administered on an as needed basis as determined by the supervisor.

2. Shop floor duties will involve the use of standard tooling, being around light and heavy machinery, be exposed to noise, and will be required to follow standard manufacturing safety practices.

Candidates being reviewed will be given a skill test onsite.
