SUMMARY 

Responsible for supporting the delivery of consulting projects to our employer prospects and clients.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

 

  • Leads the financial modeling of Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) financial proposals;

 

  • Coordinates and analyzes PBM annual market check review process;

 

  • Prepares first draft of new business and client deliverables for review by the Senior Pharmacy Consultant;

 

  • Works with Senior Pharmacy Consultants and other health Benefit Consultants to support client strategy development;

 

  • Contributes to presentation of analysis results in client meetings or conference calls;

 

  • Interacts directly with vendors;

 

  • Serves as an accessible point of contact to the pharmacy practice by other Alliant consultants, directing escalated requests as appropriate;

 

  • Understands the bigger picture behind Rx analyses, ensuring that the “question behind the question” is considered and/or that results are interpreted within the broader context;

 

  • Researches issues of concern to large employers in the pharmacy industry, assimilating information, and developing a written summary for the Senior Pharmacy Consultant to review and refine a point of view;

 

  • Manages projects, using appropriate tools, to ensure projects are being completed on time and with appropriate quality assurance checks;

 

  • Schedules and manages weekly/bi-weekly status meetings;

 

  • Works with client teams to ensure pharmacy practice resources are used appropriately, increasing efficiency by identifying ways to improve processes;

 

  • Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information);

 

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE 

Bachelor's Degree in Health Care or related industry or equivalent combination of education and experience

Three (3) or more years of experience in an actuarial, underwriting, pricing or consulting role in a Health & Welfare consulting/brokerage firm, PBM or health insurance carrier 

Or experience in financial analyses of the health care sector gained in a banking/financial services environment

Working knowledge of commercial health insurance industry and financial acumen

Excellent problem solving and time management skills

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment

Ability to work within a team and to foster teamwork

Willingness to go the extra mile to produce quality work, as client-ready as possible, with a fine attention to detail

Ability to work with large data sets in Excel, Access, or other large data manipulation software a plus

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
