The Belt and Strap Riveter is responsible for coordinating parts for products in accordance with product specifications to include buckles, keepers, snaps and d-rings. Operator manually hand rivets products requiring coper rivets.  
  • Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following Company and OSHA safety rules and regulations, understanding machine safeguards, recognizing and reporting safety hazards, and wearing required PPE. 
  • Assemble the products and manually hammer the rivets in position after cutting the rivet with pneumatic cutters, as required via automated and manual processes based on work orders. 
  • Sandsedges on fiber-guards using pneumatic drum sander; cut white/black PVC pipe with chop saw; stamp custom metal to show manufacturer and life expectancy on safety equipment. 
  • Inspect product for quality and inform supervisor or lead of any production or quality problems; move work within the department after completion to Quality Assurance. 
  • Report accurate count of production parts, scrap, and labor hours by completing required paperwork and/or electronic entry. 
  • Keep work area in clean and orderly condition, complying with established 6S standards. 
  • Cross-train by rotating to different machines and work areas as required. 
  • Participate in various lean manufacturing activities to improve products, reduce waste, and learn new skills or operations. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • ​Two (2) years related work experience in a manufacturing environment.  
  • Must possess knowledge using hand tools.
  • Demonstrate basic mathematical, reading, writing, and comprehension as well as communication skills.   
  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrate the capacity to shift priorities. 
  • Ability to work closely and effectively with all employees and management staff.
Physical Demand Requirements
 
​Required to stand, walk or sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
