Sewing Machine Operator

Location: Fort Smith, AR

Core Responsibilities

  • Perform set-up and adjustments on sewing machines to ensure optimal performance and product quality.
  • Wind bobbins, replace needles, and maintain equipment for efficient operations.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of materials to execute sewing tasks effectively.
  • Monitor in-process products for imperfections and promptly notify the supervisor or lead of any issues.
  • Follow and promote safety protocols to prevent injuries and protect equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members and management to maintain a productive work environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support manufacturing goals.

Work Schedule

  • Shift: First shift, Monday–Thursday, 4:45 AM–3:15 PM.
  • Overtime: Occasional overtime may be required on Fridays.

Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Two (2) years of related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in using hand tools.
  • Basic mathematical, reading, writing, and comprehension skills.
  • Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt and shift priorities in a dynamic work environment.

Preferred:

  • Proven experience working collaboratively with team members and management.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods.
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Perform physical movements such as reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
  • Occasionally lift and move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Meet specific vision requirements, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
