Product Copywriter
As a Product Copywriter at Klein Tools, you will spend your days collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and the marketing team to craft engaging, benefit-driven content that captures the essence of our products and our consumer-obsessed approach to design. You’ll dive deep into market research to understand the competitive landscape and target audiences, translating technical features into clear, persuasive copy for product descriptions, packaging, and marketing materials. Your creativity will shine in brainstorming sessions for product launches and campaigns, while your technical skills will come into play as you optimize copy for SEO, ensuring high rankings and increased traffic. With a blend of cross-functional teamwork and independent ownership, you’ll help maintain brand voice and product content consistency across channels, continually fine-tuning your work based on customer feedback and performance analytics. • Through research and collaboration with product managers, engineers, and the marketing team, develop understanding of target audiences, competitive landscape and marketplace differentiation to create relevant and engaging content
• Write and edit product descriptions, packaging copy, and other product-related content that highlights key benefits and is easy for consumers to understand
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accuracy and consistency across all product messaging, sourcing data from multiple stakeholders and systems to gather all necessary inputs to inform output
• Use available SEO resources to optimize product copy, ensuring it ranks well in search and site results, and drives organic traffic while maintaining readability and brand voice
• Ensure all copy is accurate and follows the company's brand guidelines, safety compliance and maintains a consistent tone of voice across a variety of marketing assets and channels
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for marketing campaigns and product launches
• Monitor product copy performance through customer feedback and analytics, making improvements where necessary
• Liaise with language translation vendor for designated projects to ensure necessary language translations are complete for product launch assets
• Create and curate a database of copy style guides, product vocabulary, required warnings, and associated specifications to streamline process and improve brand consistency
Job Qualifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a passion for finding that “just right” word, phrase or sentence to deliver the point
• Intrinsic curiosity about product function and feature benefits; high attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate work
• Able to adapt with a high sense of urgency in a dynamic environment subject to shifting priorities across multiple projects
• Demonstrates a strong send of ownership with ability to work independently under guidelines to meet deadlines; collaborating and influencing others as needed to achieve consensus
• Familiar with project management tools (i.e. Monday.com, Smart Sheet, Wrike, PageProof, Slope, etc.) to track and review assigned projects and adhere to timelines
• Experience working within Content Management System (CMS)
• Ability to establish and create efficiencies in processes and systems to improve results
