About the Role:
The Test Lab Technician will provide essential support in product testing, test documentation, development, laboratory planning, and equipment maintenance. You will be a key player in coordinating test activities and delivering high-quality results in collaboration with our engineering teams.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct & Document Testing: Set up and perform tests on product assemblies, subassemblies, and components, coordinating any necessary external testing. Accurately record numerical and observational data, creating clear and concise written reports.
- Collaborate on Test Plans: Work with product development teams to recommend and create test methods and criteria that validate product performance requirements.
- Feedback & Analysis: Partner with engineering groups to provide feedback based on observed results, helping to refine product designs and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Innovate with Fixtures & Equipment: Support the development of new test fixtures and equipment, providing direction and follow-up to ensure successful implementation.
- Quality Assurance & Life Cycle Support: Provide testing support throughout the product life cycle, including manufacturing and quality assurance activities.
- Maintain & Calibrate: Coordinate and organize the maintenance and calibration of all lab equipment, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Prioritize & Align: Prioritize tasks to align with department goals and project timelines, continually reviewing progress to maintain efficiency.
- Demand Accuracy: Seek accurate inputs and maintain a high standard of quality in all deliverables for downstream teams.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required, with one (1) year of related work experience. Associate’s Degree or Technical School certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, algebra, geometry, technical writing, specifications, and print reading.
- Basic understanding of data acquisition techniques, programming, and test lab equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and analysis/design software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an adaptable and team-oriented approach.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
Physical Requirements:
Occasionally required to stand, walk, or sit; use hands to handle objects or controls; reach with arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and effectively communicate. Occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities needed include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
