SUMMARY: Under general supervision, implements and delivers global benefits to employees of Wheeler Fleet Solutions and its subsidiaries. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Ensures compliance with 401(k) and H&W benefits administration, Affordable Care Act (ACA), including 5500 annual reporting and audits. Administers and maintains company benefit programs, billing submissions, and invoice management. Oversees day-to-day benefits-related issues while optimizing HRIS systems to improve efficiency, with a preference for expertise in Dayforce Ceridian.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Creates, maintains, and manages benefits operating procedures. Leads overall implementation activities for Annual Enrollment, new benefit coverage, new carriers, etc.
- Recommends and implements steps/processes, including HRIS system enhancements and IT integrations, to improve the accuracy and efficiency of benefits administration, with a strong preference for Dayforce Ceridian experience.
- Serves as an escalation point for complex benefits inquiries requiring senior-level support or intervention.
- Maintains files in accordance with Federal and State laws to ensure compliance.
- Partners with peers in HR and IT to conduct data audits, enhance system functionality, and develop new policies and programs in support of corporate strategy.
- Completes required regulatory filings and other compliance activities.
- Prepares benefit statistical information and census data for actuaries, insurance carriers, and management.
- Manages vendor relationships, including communications, data management, issue resolution, and outstanding payment resolution.
- Continuously evaluates and recommends improvements for benefits-related workflows, reporting, and automation.
- Other HR duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in, benefits, human resources, business or related field
- Or an additional 4 years of relevant/technical work experience in lieu of degree.
- 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Extensive exposure to HRIS platforms, benefits design, compliance, administration, and/or communications.
- Experience with benefits administration in an HRIS system is required, with a strong preference for Dayforce Ceridian.
- Demonstrated ability to configure, manage, and optimize HRIS platforms for benefits processing, data audits, and reporting.
- High-level proficiency with Excel (e.g., v-lookups, pivot tables, if/then formulas).
- Highly organized, demonstrates strong attention to detail, prioritizes effectively, and applies a sense of urgency to tasks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process-improvement skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- CEBS, CBP, and/or SPHR certification.
- Direct experience with Dayforce Ceridian, including system configuration, benefits administration, and reporting.
OTHER:
- Occasional travel to locations may be required. Estimated travel: 10% up to 25%.
