SUMMARY: The Production Supervisor is responsible for the effectiveness, efficiency, and integrity of the day-to-day operations of the 2nd shift of the MRO site. The person will be a hands-on leader providing direction, coaching, and management to the team. The position is both strategic and detail-oriented, with proven operations, supply chain, and technical experience in an aerospace MRO environment.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish operational standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and delivery.
  • Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving the customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.
  • Work closely with the General Manager and management team to set and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation.
  • Work closely with the Materials Manager to ensure effective utilization of inventory and supplies.
  • Prioritize production throughput and execute multi department expedite plans with department leads.
  • Plan and direct the installation, testing, operation and maintenance of facilities and equipment as well as assist with new product development and integration into production.
  • Determine staffing and training needs to meet budgetary targets.
  • Working knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety rules and regulations as they apply to workplace safety and environmental aspects of aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, all levels of management team, and other departments.
  • Customer service skills necessary to modify communication, tone, and presentation to defuse crisis situations with internal and external customers and maintain mutually beneficial customer relations.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership and coaching skills with the ability to develop people and build a strong team.
  • Strong Verbal and written communications skills.
  • Training skills necessary to provide employee training.
  • Planning and organization skills necessary to plan, prioritize and coordinate workload of assigned employees within a multiple project setting.
  • Computer skills necessary to learn and / or operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, project, email, and web-based applications as well as other operating systems used to manage the maintenance work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or an additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree
  • 6 years of relevant/technical work experience & 3+ years of leadership experience 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and scheduling applications
  • Attention to small details as well as strong math skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to pass additional background check as required by customer; as applicable.

 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree
  • 9+ years of operational work experience
  • 6+ years in the aviation industry
  • 6+ years in a supervisory position
