SUMMARY: The Component technician is responsible for repair and overhaul aviation accessory components while maintaining a safe work environment. The technician will perform maintenance and alteration tasks on civil aviation articles in accordance with the current technical data provided in the manufacturers’ Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, Services Bulletins, service letters, Airworthiness Directives, government and industry standard practices, and other data acceptable to or approved by the FAA. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Perform advanced repairs, overhauls, and modifications on aviation components such as hydraulic, landing gears, brakes, wheels, etc. 
  • Repair and overhaul aviation components from start to finish including disassembly, inspection, diagnosis, repair, reassembly, and testing 
  • Use aviation ERP system as necessary. 
  • Utilize specialized tools, equipment, and technical manuals to troubleshoot and resolve complex component malfunctions and discrepancies. 
  • Develop and document repair procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation to ensure consistency and compliance with aviation regulations and industry standards. 
  • Train and mentor junior technicians on advanced repair techniques, best practices, and safety protocols. 
  • Read and interpret component maintenance manuals (CMMs). 
  • Ensure all work performed in accordance with approved technical and regulatory data.  
  • Generate data plates for components as required 
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting of repair activities and test results. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:   

  • Associate’s degree 
  • 3+ years of relevant/technical work experience. 
    • Internal experience counts as 2 years of experience as it relates to meeting the requirements of a role. 
  • OR an additional 2 years specific work experience in lieu of degree.  
  • Extensive knowledge of aviation components including hydraulics, landing gears, brakes, wheels, etc.  
  • Proven experience in conducting complex repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting on a wide range of aviation components. 
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail in diagnosing and resolving technical issues. 
  • Excellent communication skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. 
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with aviation regulations and industry standards. 
  • Inspect, disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble components such as hydraulic systems, landing gear, brakes, wheels, etc. 
  • Be flexible to changing workloads/priorities based on customer requirements.  
  • Maintain an orderly and productive work environment.  
  • Ability to function in fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality.  
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and data required. 
  • Willing to work additional hours when operational objectives require it.  
  • Ability to prioritize and to work without close supervision.  
  • Basic computer operating skills.  
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges. 
  • Demonstrated track record of dependability, accountability, and problem-solving. 
  • Maintain a positive attitude, show resilience, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. 
  • Proven record of reliable performance and consistent punctuality  
     

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 6+ years of relevant/technical experience in the aviation industry. 
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification or FAA Repairman certification preferred. 
     

OTHER:   

  • The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
