Chemical Sampler
JOB DESCRIPTION |
DEPARTMENT: TECHNICAL
POSITION: RAW MATERIALS/CHEMICAL SAMPLER
REPORTS TO: Analytical Lab Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
- Required to understand and follow all company policies and procedures, safety
requirements, cGMP regulations and customer requirements applicable to this position.
- Sample components by MIL-STD 105E and chemicals according to KIK or customer
procedures.
- Identify and match components and materials by KIK and customer specifications.
- Examine chemicals and containers for defects according to specifications using
applicable testing and inspection tools as required.
- Perform sterile sampling of chemical containers – submit samples to the analytical lab.
- Identify material as approved, hold, or quarantine with proper labeling.
- Verify receipt of Certificate of Analysis for all materials prior to sampling and submit
with the sample to the lab.
- Inspect and compare all chemical labeling to the receiver and verify that it has been
received properly.
- Maintain the sampling booth in a clean and orderly fashion and document in proper logbook.
- Monitor and maintain the expiration dating in the JDE electronic system.
- Sample the USP Water System and conduct weekly environmental monitoring testing.
- Monitor the retest program and sample as needed.
- Participate in other duties as may be assigned by the department manager or Technical Director.
- Maintain the retain room and perform annual inspections of retain samples.
CHARACTERISTICS
- Has worked in regulated industry.
- Understanding of chemical hazards and biological hazards.
- Understanding of cross contamination and personal hygiene hazards.
- Is capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with meeting deadlines.
- Good planning skills.
- Willing to spend a large portion of their time on the floor while also being able to manage the requirement of generating written documents and performing research for validation projects.
- Work and communicate well with all levels of employees.
- Team player.
- Needs minimum of supervision to accomplish daily tasks and projects.
- Understands the needs of production and quality.
- Knowledge of micro contamination.
EDUCATIONAL/BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED and/or related work experience. The ability to utilize Microsoft software including Word and Excel is a plus.
