POSITION SUMMARY:
- The Human Resources Generalist reports to the Human Resources Business Partner
- Located in Tampa, FL
- Full-Time
- Hybrid
The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting various HR functions within the organization, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, and HRIS management. This position works closely with HR management to implement HR programs, policies, and initiatives that align with the organization's goals and objectives. This position heavily partners with HR Business Partners to ensure a relevant and generative approach to the candidate experience from “hire to retire”, while meeting state, local and federal requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Support hiring managers with job requisition process and requisition tracking.
- In collaboration with Talent Acquisition team, coordinate recruitment efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, scheduling interviews through to job offers.
- Facilitate pre-start communications for new hires, orientation sessions and completion of required onboarding tasks.
Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Partners with HRBP to conduct level 1 employee relations investigations, document findings, and recommend appropriate resolutions.
Performance Management:
- Assist in the administration of performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance evaluations, and development planning.
- Provide support to managers and employees on performance-related matters, including documentation and administration of corrective action process.
Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Support open enrollment and benefit communication/education activities.
- Assist employees with benefits inquiries and escalate issues to HR management as necessary.
- Manage employee leave requests, work accommodation discussions and leave administration.
HRIS Management:
- Maintain HRIS records within Human Capital Management system and ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Generate HR reports and assist with data analysis as needed.
- Provides HRIS record audits on a quarterly basis, and in conjunction with HRBP, updates accordingly.
- Policy & Procedure Compliance:
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing employment practices and leave administration.
HR Projects & Initiatives:
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement surveys, diversity programs, and HR process improvements.
- Collaborate with HR team members to support the overall HR strategy and objectives.
- Support employee engagement and retention initiatives
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements and collaborates with Generalists nationally to document and escalate for review and approval.
COMPETENCIES:
- Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees and managers.
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Possesses a natural curiosity on how systems integrate, and how they can be optimized to enable the candidate experience.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent military or practical experience.
- 2 – 4 years of experience in human resources or related field.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) preferred but not required.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
