POSITION SUMMARY
Thrive Skilled Pediatric Care’s (Thrive SPC) purpose is simple, to provide high quality clinical home care to medically fragile children so they can grow and flourish to their full potential. Duties include, but are not limited to being responsible for timely and accurate electronic transmission and submissions of claims. Also entails the timely and accurate resolution of outstanding invoices either through cash collections or adjustments.
HIRING REQUIREMENTS
- 2-5 years of experience in the medical billing field
- Knowledge of HCPCS coding
- Background in medical terminology
- Working knowledge of Excel
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for collection and resolution on all assigned accounts
- Research and submit all state appeals & audits in a timely manner
- Research, prepare and complete any Write Offs
- Verifies that payments received are correct
- Follows up on collections and appeals in an efficient and timely manner
- Demonstrate an ability to prioritize, multitask and utilize time efficiently
- Demonstrates proficiency with software applications used by the company
- Demonstrates the ability to clearly, accurately and concisely document notes in system per company guidelines
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Effectively identify and communicate to manager when assistance is needed (including, but not limited to system function, training, etc.)
- Proficiency in the knowledge of services offered by the company
- Observes legal and ethical guidelines for safeguarding patient and company confidentiality (HIPAA)
- Understands and provides exceptional customer service to clients, patients, and payors
- Exhibits a positive, courteous, respectful and helpful attitude to clients, co-workers, and management team
- Understands and achieves team and individual goals as determined by supervisors

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands of this job require constant visual and auditory requirements and sitting, keying and mouse input, occasional standing, walking, simple grasping, bending, squatting, kneeling, writing, pushing, pulling, reaching above and below the shoulder level. Position requires occasional lifting demands of up to 5 pounds and occasional carrying demands of up to 10 pounds up to 50 feet. Working conditions are predominately a normal office environment with little to no exposure to environmental hazards.
