Job Description
Reports to: Account Manager/Operations Manager
Department: Janitorial
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Position Summary: The Operations Supervisor’s duties include general cleaning, pulling trash, dusting, cleaning restrooms, vacuuming, and other cleaning duties. Also includes coordinating with employees to complete special tasks, assisting the account manager or operations manager in ensuring buildings are being cleaned per the scope at multiple sites. Position for growth opportunities into supervisor or management positions.

Will perform general cleaning, sweeping and mopping floors around machines, removing debris, cleaning windows and bathrooms, emptying trash and removing cardboard, cleaning storage areas outside the plant, using a pressure washer to clean concrete areas outside. Sweeping and cleaning storm drains and ditches, stairwells, outside utility areas, and elevator floors. Collects outside receptacle trash using designated routes. Transports trash and waste to disposal area. Provides assistance with any outside cleaning, which may include sweeping sidewalks and picking up trash.

Assists in project cleaning, which includes lifting and removing furniture from rooms. Setting up and breaking down event set ups; moving student chairs/desks, file cabinets, rugs, and all other boxes in classrooms. Will also include scrubbing floors, pulling trash, dusting, vacuuming, and restroom cleaning or other duties.

Operates various types of equipment and machinery, which include wet vacuums, hand trucks, vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors, floor buffers, automatic scrubbers, etc. Assists in the completion of the workload in the absence of other service workers.

Reports any malfunctions / maintenance problems to the supervisor. Discusses work problems and/or schedule problems with supervisor and / or management. May be required to lock and / or unlock doors. Attends training meetings and sessions as directed.

Helps the Account Manager/Operations Manager resolve employee and customer issues.

Provide feedback to management as needed on unique client requirements and opportunities to expand client relationships.

Safety training, proper use of PPE

Disinfection training. How to properly apply disinfectant, dwell times for different solutions.

Application of anti-microbial barrier technology solutions and utilization of proper PPE for disinfection applications.

Fills in at any site as needed.

Required:

Janitorial experience preferred.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Ability to learn basic cleaning principles and techniques.

Ability to perceive identification numbers marked on material and be able to read and understand numbers and volumes.

Reliable transportation and MVR required.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with arms and hands. The employee is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must lift / move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here represent those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. including AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses. The noise level is usually moderate.
