PACE Enrollment Specialist
Position Summary:
Responsible for communicating the benefits of San Diego PACE (Program of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly) in order to drive productivity via monthly enrollments. Achieves agreed upon monthly enrollment targets and outcomes within schedule. Duties include but not limited to: engaging PACE enrollment prospects, initial screening and coordination of new participants into the San Diego PACE program.
Essential Functions of the Job:
- Results-driven Business Development Representative with excellent interpersonal skills to actively seek out and engage PACE enrollment prospects.
- Understand and promote PACE services to prospective participants. Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs.
- Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships throughout the PACE enrollment process.
- Reach out to customer leads through telephonic and/or in-person meetings in order to expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize likelihood of a successful enrollment.
- Consistently achieve agreed upon monthly enrollment targets and outcomes within schedule.
- Conducts San Diego PACE program eligibility screening, intake, education and enrollment assistance activities to initially determine participant needs and eligibility for enrollment.
- Coordinates with potential participants and/or their families to conduct initial screenings and assessments for potential participants.
- Completes appropriate documentation related to participant assessments as required.
- Coordinates communications of eligibility decisions, approvals or disapprovals with participant or their family members.
- Participates in outreach and marketing activities in conjunction with the PACE Marketing Manager.
- Collects and data enters the daily referral, intake, enrollment, marketing and outreach activities notes with submission of weekly and monthly reports to PACE Enrollment Manager.
- Provide tours of PACE center(s) to interested family members, potential participants, community partners and providers.
- Highly motivated, excellent selling, negotiation and communication skills. Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with potential enrollees.

Job Requirements:
Education required:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field OR 3 years of related work experience
Experience Required:
- Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative.
- Proven success rate at levels above quotas.
Experience Preferred:
- One year of Medi-Cal, Medicare, managed health care eligibility or senior related sales.
- Working with the frail or elderly population is a plus.
Certifications/Licenses:
- CA driver’s license with appropriate automobile insurance required.
- Must take and pass the State of California DHCS PACE and Medi-Cal Marketing Certification exam within 60 days of hire.
Verbal and Written Skills to Perform the Job:
- Must be able to communicate effectively and comfortably in public forums.
- Prepare concise and clear reports on marketing and outreach.
Technical Knowledge and Skills to Perform the Job:
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Word applications including Excel, Access and Power Point.
- Computer data entry, analysis and reporting experience is required.
- Knowledge of electronic health data systems including EPIC is preferred.

- Computers, phones, personal vehicle, copy machines, fax machines, and other general office equipment.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
- Busy PACE Center and clinic environment serving the frail elderly with medium to loud noise levels and controlled office temperatures.
- May be required to lift up to 30 lbs., stand and walk frequently indoors and outdoors; set-up/take down outreach equipment.
- Will be required to travel to other sites or other locations within San Diego County.
- Will be required to work some evenings and/or weekends.
Universal Requirements:
Pre-employment requirements include I-9, physical, positive background and reference check results, complete application, new hire orientation, pre-employment PPDs.
