What does a Manager, Controls Engineering do at Swire Coca-Cola?
The Manager, Controls Engineering will lead the controls engineering discipline from a functional perspective for all Swire production facilities and automated warehouses. You will create systems for and lead the development of capability in the areas of electrical safety, industrial power distribution, automation controls, and plant floor information systems. You are also responsible for ensuring operation in adherence with Swire and Coca-Cola best practices/standards and that all products are produced at the highest levels of quality. In addition, you will ensure that plant/warehouse power distribution and control systems are compliant with all industry safety requirements and these systems reliably support the business in delivering optimum efficiency and cost. You will also develop and deploy plant/warehouse power distribution and control system strategies in support of journey toward world class manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Functionally lead the plant and line controls specialists across all manufacturing sites and automated warehouses. Build and maintain control system capability, standards, processes, and governance
- Lead the development of capability in the areas of electrical safety, industrial power distribution, automation controls, and plant floor information systems
- Establish and implement overall control system strategy as part of journey toward world class manufacturing, including obsolescence planning and capital budgeting
- Oversee OEM and service provider control system integration to ensure appropriate internal capability is developed and that best value is achieved across the organization
- Periodically evaluate existing controls systems for obsolete hardware and software. Develop and implement solutions to ensure production capabilities are maintained
- Provide leadership in proposing and executing control system projects across all manufacturing sites and automated warehouses
- Establish and maintain a strong association with The Coca-Cola Company/CCNA and other Coca-Cola bottlers in order to effectively learn and apply best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
- Strong knowledge of industrial control systems and automated equipment, including water treatment, high speed filling and material handling, PLCs, HMIs, motion control, and robotics
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety and industrial power distribution
- 6+ years of leadership experience in managing teams of controls specialists or engineers, preferably in a multi-site and multi-national company environment
- KO KORE and ISO quality standards in a manufacturing environment
- Control system hardware and software experience
- Strategic thinker; experienced in building strategic plans and implementing strategy
