What does a Manufacturing Operations Manager do at Swire Coca-Cola?
The Manufacturing Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a production facility during a specific shift. This includes ensuring the safety of employees and providing support to employees. The Manufacturing Shift Manager is responsible for organizing work across all operating areas (i.e. quality, maintenance, production) and ensuring that business objectives are met on their assigned shift.

Job Details:
Schedule: 5pm - 5am (Shift A: Sun-Tues, every other Wed; Shift B: Thurs-Sat, every other Wed)
Location: Salt Lake City/West Valley Plant 


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of all manufacturing employees during the shift
  • Build capabilities in frontline employees and their direct leaders in the areas of centerlines, CILs, defect handling, and other IWS tools/systems
  • Provide support and guidance to employees to help them perform their duties effectively
  • Develop frontline leaders to effectively support their operating teams
  • Coordinate work across business functions i.e. quality, maintenance and production
  • Communicate with line and department managers to ensure smooth operations across shifts
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and improve efficiency
  • Ensure that all safety protocols are followed and that employees are working in a safe environment
  • Maintain accurate records and generate reports as needed
  • Monitor operations and make necessary adjustments to meet business objectives
  • Identify and address any issues that may impact business results, such as quality incidents, equipment malfunctions, or employee absences
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • High School Diploma (or GED) or equivalent required
  • 2+ years previous experience in a supervisory role in a production environment preferred
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions
  • Knowledge of production processes and equipment, including maintenance
  • Knowledge of quality systems
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
