What does a Production Maintenance Mechanic do at Swire Coca-Cola?
In the production plant the Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of general facility maintenance. The production environment is operational 24/7 so the technician is responsible to maintain, repair, disassemble and troubleshoot complex equipment in charge of production processes. There is high speed automated production machinery, and other manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Support to production lines by troubleshooting failures and other issues and making necessary repairs to production and facility equipment to maximize efficiencies
- Complete all assigned work orders and preventative maintenance tasks through SAP
- Participate in rebuilds and overhauls on production line and support equipment
- Assist with parts management by ensuring parts are checked out of stock and communicating any deficiencies to the Parts Planner
- Provide consistent communication with fellow maintenance staff through End of Shift reports
- Support the Swire Manufacturing Continuous Improvement (SMCI) process by participating in established routines with production operators and following up on top causes of downtime
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace
- Follow established safety, quality and environmental policies, practices, and programs
- Operate with technical skill the SAP Computerized Maintenance Management system
- Clean tools, parts and equipment after line rebuilds/repairs/maintenance
- Install new equipment as necessary and provide technical expertise to train and support production with a continued desire for lean supply chain process initiatives and improvement
- Operate and monitor equipment and replenish materials as needed
- Quality reviews of equipment assigned to maintain safety and performance standards
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent degree/certificate
- Trade School certified preferred
- 2+ years of maintenance experience
- Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read schematics
- Welding and Fabrication experience
- Experience working with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC systems
- Ability to learn new software and interfaces quickly. Strong computer skills
- Ability to stay on task and meet goals and deadlines with minimal supervision
- Carpentry, Electrical, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning), Plumbing, Welding, Fabrication, docks and doors, security systems
- Production Facility repairs as assigned
- Knowledge of manufacturing, production operators, and industrial technology preferred
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as directed by the business
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
