Corporate Financial Analyst

The Corporate FP&A Analyst is responsible for supporting the preparation, analysis, and consolidation of financial reports, analytics, and budgeting templates for Stanley Martin Holdings. This role assists in forecasting, variance analysis, financial reporting and financial modeling to help drive business insights and decision-making. It provides exposure to corporate finance, cross-functional collaboration, and opportunities to develop critical analytical skills in a dynamic environment.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in financial analysis by gathering and interpreting data to support key business decisions.
  • Support the development and maintenance of financial models to aid in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Assist with the consolidation of divisional and subsidiary financial reports for corporate financial reporting and management review.
  • Assist in preparing financial reporting packages for senior leadership, highlighting key variances, risks, and performance drivers.
  • Prepare charts, graphs, and reports through data visualization to help illustrate financial trends and insights for management.
  • Compile and summarize financial data from various sources, ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial reporting.
  • Analyze budget-to-actual variances to identify key drivers of financial performance and provide insights for management decision-making.
  • Help streamline financial processes by identifying efficiencies in reporting and automating repetitive tasks where possible.
  • Work closely with subsidiaries to update financial models, financial reports and assist with forecasting and budgeting activities as well as reporting of actuals.
  • Provide support for the operations finance team related to budgets, financial schedules, and ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Communicate findings and insights to finance leadership in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all internal and external interactions.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards and promote a safe working environment.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office with Proficiency in Excel
  • Relevant work or internship experience in financial analysis, accounting, or a similar role
  • Ability to work independently and proactively
  • Experience with financial reporting tools, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, or business intelligence software is a plus
