Diesel Mechanic

Mechanic Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team to assemble, maintain, and repair machinery and vehicles. As a Mechanic, you will ensure the functionality, safety, and reliability of machines, engines, and mechanical systems. Ideal candidates will have strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and experience with a wide range of machines and tools, following strict safety protocols.

Hours: 7:30am - 4:30pm *Over-time may vary

Schedule: Monday - Friday 

Location: 3314 Biedler Street | North Charleston, SC 29418

Pay Range: Starting at $28.00/hour *based on experience

Responsibilities:

• Assemble and build machines or mechanical components according to specifications.
• Inspect and troubleshoot machines, engines, and transmissions to identify and diagnose issues.
• Run diagnostic tests and maintain detailed logs of all work performed.
• Conduct repairs with an emphasis on maximizing functionality and reliability.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components and replenish necessary fluids.
• Advise on correct maintenance practices and preventative measures to machine users.
• Undertake additional duties as required, such as repairs of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles, etc.
• Experience with heavy equipment is a plus.

Requirements & Skills

• 8+ years of proven experience as a Mechanic.
• Strong knowledge of machinery, hydraulic, electrical, and other mechanical systems.
• Skilled in using hand tools, shop tools, and precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers).
• Ability to follow established procedures, read instruction manuals, and wiring schematics.
• Must have basic hand tools for daily use.
• Commitment to adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong physical stamina and good overall fitness.
• Positive attitude and reliable attendance.
• High school diploma preferred; certification from a vocational school or apprenticeship is a plus.
• ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
