JOB TITLE: Mechanic Recruiter 

SALARY: Starting at $55,000 *based on experience

LOCATION: Remote/Hybrid Position

JOB SUMMARY:  

We are looking for a results-driven Mechanic Recruiter to join our fast-paced team. In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in attracting top-tier talent for mechanical positions across our organization. You’ll work directly with hiring managers to understand hiring needs and execute targeted recruiting strategies to build a sustainable pipeline of candidates. This role requires approximately 25% travel to high schools, technical schools, and career fairs to build strong future talent pipelines.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Collaborate with Hiring Managers: Partner closely with hiring managers to fully understand location needs, job requirements, and organizational goals to recruit the best talent.
  • Develop & Execute Recruitment Strategies: Drive the full recruiting cycle, from sourcing and screening to final placement. Use a mix of traditional and innovative channels to build a diverse pool of diesel mechanic candidates.
  • Job Advertising & Promotion: Create engaging job advertisements and strategically post them on digital and print platforms to maximize visibility and attract high-quality candidates.
  • Screen & Assess Candidates: Review resumes, conduct phone screens, and evaluate qualifications through assessments and interviews to ensure only the most qualified candidates are moved forward.
  • Candidate Engagement & Communication: Provide an exceptional candidate experience by maintaining regular communication throughout the interview and hiring process. Keep candidates informed with timely updates and feedback.
  • Partner with Hiring Managers: Support hiring managers during the interview process and provide guidance on candidate selection, salary negotiations, and best hiring practices.
  • Offer Extension & Onboarding: Extend offers to candidates and manage the completion of background checks, screenings, and employment verifications.
  • Industry Networking & Engagement: Represent the company at career fairs, industry conferences, and recruiting events (approximately 25% travel), where you will engage with students, young professionals, and potential hires.
  • Build Long-Term Talent Pipelines: Develop relationships with high schools, technical schools, and vocational institutions to build a strong pipeline of future mechanic candidates, creating long-term recruitment opportunities for the organization.

JOB REQUIREMENTS  

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of recruiting experience, ideally in a fast-paced, high-volume hiring environment.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing candidates through diverse channels including job boards, social media, career fairs, and educational outreach.
  • Strong familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and other recruiting software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other communication tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to present and engage candidates and hiring managers effectively.
  • A working knowledge of employment laws, recruitment best practices, and diversity and inclusion strategies.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, including visits to high schools, technical schools, and industry events.
