OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE
This role focuses on driving sales growth of branded Polyethylene in the Pacific Coast region (Central America, Caribbean, and Andean). The Sales Developer will primarily support the sales force and customers while providing assistance to distribution customers or sellers as needed.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and develop new opportunities for branded PE solutions through active collaboration with the sales team.
- Collaborate with the Product Manager to align and execute the regional strategy for growth.
- Lead and oversee pipeline discussions, ensuring strategies are well-coordinated, consistent, and communicated effectively.
- Track and advance business development opportunities using CRM tools.
- Provide clear direction and enforce growth targets for the sales team, ensuring accountability and pipeline delivery.
- Conduct regular customer and seller visits to nurture existing opportunities and uncover new prospects.
- Work closely with the Technical Support team to deliver product solutions and manage technical trials.
- Assist Distribution GMs with development needs as directed by the Product Manager.
- Manage specific customer accounts in Colombia, as required.
- Adhere to and implement company policies related to commercial activities.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
1. Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, business administration, marketing, or a related field.
- Advanced degrees (MBA, Master's) or additional certifications in chemical engineering, polymer science or materials engineering are a plus.
2. Professional Experience:
- At least 5–7 years of sales and business development experience, preferably in the plastics or chemicals industries.
- Experience working with branded polyethylene solutions, specifically metallocenes, in the flexible packaging space.
- Proven track record in driving sales growth, managing pipelines, and achieving sales targets.
- Ability to identify unmet customer needs and work with technical teams to develop a specific solution to address; excellent listening skills
- Exposure to medium to long product development cycles.
- Ideal candidate will be based in Central America or the Andean regions, with knowledge of regional market dynamics for flexible packaging.
3. Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of polyethylene (PE) products and their applications, particularly in flexible packaging solutions.
- Familiarity with technical specifications, customer needs analysis, and formulation requirements.
- Proficiency in using CRM platforms to manage pipelines and track opportunities.
4. Sales and Commercial Skills:
- Ability to identify, prioritize, and develop new business opportunities.
- Strong negotiation and account management capabilities.
- Strategic mindset to align customer needs with company goals and product offerings.
- Active listening.
5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish & English.
- Capability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including customers, sales teams, and technical support staff.
6. Analytical and Organizational Skills:
- Ability to monitor and evaluate business opportunities, setting clear and achievable growth targets.
- Strong organizational skills to coordinate with teams across functions, ensuring alignment and consistent communication.
