3rd Shift Maintenance - Maintenance Technician Wadsworth

Hours: 11pm-7am

Employee will train on first shift for 6-8 weeks. 

PURPOSE OF ROLE:   

  • Maintain and lubricate all machinery and safeguard company property.  Keep all equipment operating at optimal level.  Perform tasks as assigned by Maintenance Team Leader and Plant Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform safe and efficient machine and daily procedures.
  • Maintain cooling water systems to mills, Bunbury's and other machinery in the plant.
  • Inspect and maintain air compressors.
  • Ensure all lockout/tagout procedures are being followed properly when working on equipment.
  • Maintain a clean work area to reduce safety hazards. 
  • Remain on call for emergencies.
  • Support operators by providing training. 
  • Complete preventative maintenance work orders and reactive maintenance repair logs.
  • Create improvement proposals and execute tasks resulting from improvement proposals.
  • Complete administrative tasks as needed. 
  • Participate in problem analysis, identification of root causes, and suitable permanent solutions.
  • Work with outside contractors as needed and ensure they follow the proper sign-in and out procedures.
  • Ensure a Job Safety Analysis (JSA) is completed when needed by outside contractors.
  • Add chemicals to water in pump house as needed.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) worn at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Maintain company safety, housekeeping and environmental standards.
  • Apply the RMA 7S for Success standards to work area and all tasks.
  • Uphold the RMA Code of Conduct standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Team Leader and Plant Manager.

 

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma required or equivalent.
  • Two years experience and technical knowledge in areas of electrical and mechanical maintenance of equipment or military experience in a technical field or Associated Degree in a technical field. (Preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing specifications.
  • Two to 5 years industrial maintenance. (Preferred)
  • Proficient in both electrical and mechanical knowledge and abilities.
  • Pumping system and Conveyor system maintenance experience. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of Computerized Management Systems (i.e SAP or Maximo).
  • Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft office, email, etc.)
  • Ability to cover other shifts as needed (Due to PTO or Leave).
  • Strong knowledge of electricity, mechanics, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics in a manufacturing environment. (Preferred)
  • Experience changing out bearing and motors. (Preferred)
  • PLC and automated systems education and/or experience. (Preferred)
  • Forklift license required.
  • Ability to operate scissors and two-man lift.

  • The employee must be able to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
