POSITION SUMMARY: 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning and Development Specialist to join our Learning & Development Team at Power Construction.  We believe in bringing high-quality content to our employees to help them be as effective as possible in their jobs as well as grow in their careers. The L&D Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing training programs to enhance the skills, knowledge, and professional growth of our employees. This role involves working closely with various departments to identify training needs, develop effective learning solutions, and ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards. The L&D Specialist reports to the L&D Manager. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Design, develop, implement, and facilitate innovative and engaging classroom and virtual based training programs through the lens of Power's mission and beliefs 
  • Deliver engaging and effective training sessions tailored to the construction industry's unique needs
  • Develop and maintain curriculum and facilitation guides and materials to support training efforts 
  • Partner and collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop learning solutions and training programs (eLearning, instructor-led, video, tools, and resources) 
  • Continuously refine training materials and methods based on employee feedback and industry trends
  • Utilize learning management systems (LMS) to track training progress and provide digital learning solutions
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and incorporate them into training strategies
  • Act as a point of contact for employees seeking professional development opportunities
  • Develop and manage communications regarding participation in learning programs 
  • Regularly visit active construction sites to engage with project teams to facilitate workshops, position meetings, and support additional operational training requests
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to conduct needs assessments, identify skill gaps, and align training initiatives with business objectives  

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development, Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, Education and/or equivalent experience  
  • Graduate Degree a plus 
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar role 
  • Experience facilitating interactive training with adults 
  • Experience with learning technologies, virtual learning platforms, and eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline/Rise, etc.) 
  • Experience in the construction industry preferred 
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design models is required 
  • Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 

 

COMPENSATION DETAILS:

  • Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000
