Engineer III
The Engineer III Assists Engineering management and conducts major repairs and maintenance on plumbing, physical structure, electrical fixtures, machinery, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, spa, kitchen and laundry equipment, using hand and power tools, electrician, and plumbing tools. Responsible for completing and overseeing all repairs on property. Will complete all maintenance requests, and Knowcross work orders in a timely manner; respond immediately to guest room maintenance requests, etc.; respond to emergencies; and perform necessary assignments to ensure guest and employee safety. Will back up loss prevention as needed for emergency responses
Essential:

Desirable:

5+ years’ previous maintenance experience in hotel, building or commercial building, or equivalent experience in a specialized trade.

1-2 years in hotel maintenance.

CPR/first aid qualified.

Certifications or License pertaining to a specialized trade.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for completing Knowcross work orders and other assigned repairs on property.
2. Complete all maintenance requests in a timely manner.
3. Respond immediately to guest room maintenance requests, etc.
4. Respond to emergencies.
5. Perform necessary assignments to ensure guest and employee safety.
6. Back up loss prevention as needed for emergency responses.
7. Repairs, maintains and inspects plumbing, physical structure, electrical wiring and fixtures,
machinery, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, spa, kitchen and laundry equipment, in accordance
with blueprints, manuals, and building codes, using hand and power tools, carpenter, electrician, and
plumbing tools.
8. Measures, cuts and installs pipes and tubing for gas and water.
9. Repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators and other plumbing equipment and opens
clogged drains.
10. Installs electrical equipment and repairs or replaces wiring and fixtures.
11. Occasionally makes and repairs shelves, partitions and other wooden structures.
12. Occasionally paints walls, floors, woodwork and fixtures of establishment.
13. Occasionally replace and repair tile, concrete and sheetrock walls and structures.
14. Starts devices to test their performance.
15. Replaces drive belts and filters on machines and equipment.
16. Repairs and replaces locks.
17. Replaces light bulbs throughout the building.
18. Performs repairs to swimming pool/spa equipment
19. Check pool/spa chemicals and maintain water analysis logs
20. Helps and assists other department engineers.
21. Maintains shop and other work areas in a clean and organized condition.
22. Prepares reports, as requested, to develop a more informative data base for improve management decision making and critical evaluation of work activities.
23. Exhibit 5 Star Standard identified within Engineering Department and in conjunction with Ojai Valley Inn & Spa standards.
The pay for this position is $27.55/hour.
