Engineer II (Maintenance)
The Engineer II conducts minor repairs and maintenance on plumbing, physical structure, electrical fixtures, machinery, heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, spa, kitchen and laundry equipment, using hand and power tools, electrician, and plumbing tools. Will complete work orders as assigned through Knowcross and by supervisor; respond immediately to guest room maintenance requests, etc.; respond to emergencies; and perform necessary assignments to ensure guest and employee safety. Will also back up loss prevention for emergency situations.
Essential:

Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and electro-mechanical systems successfully.

Must be willing to take initiative, and have the ability to be innovative with problem solving.

Knowledge of electricity and plumbing.

Knowledge of pool equipment care.

Knowledge of spa equipment.

Knowledge of hand and power tools.

Ability to work well with others.

Ability to take direction and work unsupervised.
Desirable:

2-4 years previous maintenance experience in hotel, building or commercial building, or equivalent experience in a specialized trade.

CPR/first aid qualified.

Knowledge of HVAC/R
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Responsible for routine maintenance and repair of the entire physical plant.
2. Will complete work orders as assigned by both Knowcross and supervisor.
3. Respond immediately to guest room maintenance requests, etc.
4. Respond to emergencies.
5. Perform necessary assignments to ensure guest and employee safety.
6. Will back up loss prevention for emergency situations.
7. Refers to blue prints and manuals.
8. Inspects and observes equipment in operation for defects, listens for sounds to locate causes of
trouble.
9. Replaces drive belts and filters on equipment.
10. Start devices to test their performance.
11. Replaces washers and seals and clears clogged drains.
12. Makes and repairs wooden structures.
13. Changes light bulbs throughout the hotel.
14. Repairs locks.
15. Replace switches and receptacles.
16. Repairs tile, concrete and sheetrock walls.
17. Check pool/spa chemicals and maintain water analysis logs
18. Maintains shop and other work areas in a clean and organized condition.
19. Exhibit 5 Star Standard identified within Engineering Department and in conjunction with Ojai Valley Inn standards.
The pay for this position is $25.55/hour.
