Marketing Specialist
We are seeking a full-time Marketing Specialist responsible for driving the success of the Space Center Houston through comprehensive marketing and advertising initiatives. This position sits on a team of Marketing Specialists who are assigned a portfolio, rotated on an annual basis. Marketing Specialists report directly to the Manager of Marketing. Responsibilities and qualifications are listed below.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working in collaboration with the Manager of Marketing and Director of Marketing and Communications, create integrated marketing plans for assigned portfolio across digital and traditional marketing to drive the success of Space Center Houston.
- Execute all marketing tactics across organic and paid marketing channels, including content development and creation, email marketing, social media marketing, advertising, influencer and content marketing.

Steward and grow long-term, positive relationships with crew members for assigned portfolio.

Develop a deep understanding of Space Center Houston’s strategic framework, operational goals audiences and the key message and value sets that resonate with those audiences.

Incorporate insights from the Audience Insights and Evaluation team into actional marketing tactics. Audience Evaluation team.

Develop creative briefs and creative asset production in collaboration with the Creative Services team.

Develop and execute content marketing assets according to industry best practices, including brand-aligned blogs, videos, playlists and more.

Manage expenditures and work within an annual budget, proportional to clients’ expected revenue targets.

Report marketing performance to clients and Manager of Marketing on a monthly cadence, with quarterly performance summaries to the Director of Marketing and Communications.

Liaison with the Communications team to communicate any upcoming programming, events, etc. that internal clients are coordinating to the larger organization.

Assist with maintaining relevant areas of the department knowledge base and contribute to its development.

Track and update all marketing plan tactics, special projects and more in the organization’s shared project management tool.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field; or in lieu of a college degree, at least 4 years of direct professional experience in the marketing field.
- Minimum two years of experience in the marketing field, in addition to the educational requirement.
- Intermediate experience using email marketing programs (MailChimp, Constant Contact, etc.) and social media publishing programs (Hootsuite, Sprout Social, etc.) to support brand marketing efforts.
- Ability to work independently and set, manage and meet deadlines for projects of varying scopes.
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills with the ability to produce error-free grammatically correct copy daily across multiple channels and formats.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with stakeholders of various backgrounds and seniority levels.
- Excellent digital competency and the ability to learn new technologies and systems with confidence.
- Strong attention to detail in all aspects of the work, including planning, production, and execution.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills across mediums and contexts.
- Basic data literacy and data visualization skills.
- Professional experience at museums, zoos, science centers or ticketed attractions a plus.
