Motivate is seeking qualified Field Service Technicians (Station Technicians) to join our bikeshare team. The position is part-time, second shift and requires weekend work. Field Service Technicians help maintain bikeshare station terminals and components. Traveling around the system, the station technicians will check the bikeshare station terminals and components, ensuring that stations are properly charged, as well as providing maintenance and technical assistance to ensure proper operations.
About the Role
- Complete maintenance and test functionality of station terminals and components, performing diagnostic testing and troubleshooting malfunctions, and completing repairs
- Ensure stations are charged; switching and charging batteries as needed and maintaining solar panels
- Demonstrate technical and hand/power tool proficiency to diagnose, switch out and/or repair electronic/electrical systems, including sim cards, circuit boards, and wiring, as well as mechanical and hardware components
- Operate a motor vehicle through an urban environment making frequent stops on a route
- Accurately and thoroughly record all maintenance and repair activities
- Follow all safety regulations, policies, and protocols
About You
- You display technical aptitude for both electronics and mechanical systems; previous experience in technical troubleshooting, identifying, and resolving issues; a background with electronics, repair, construction, or related preferred
- You are safety-minded first, experienced using a hammer drill and pallet jack and are comfortable with hand and power tools; forklift experience is a plus
- You are technology proficient, comfortable using smartphone apps, email, chat/text, and can learn new technology and software applications
- You have a valid driver's license and can pass a motor vehicle record check
- You are comfortable driving, stopping, and working in busy, outdoor urban environments
- You can lift to 75 pounds repeatedly and can stoop, bend, and stand for long periods
