LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: American Red Cross Lifeguard Training and American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer Certification.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Assistant Pool Manager will assist the pool manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the pool including scheduling, staffing, delegating tasks, training, as well as maintaining equipment for the pool and hot tub. The Assistant Pool Manager will be the lead manager when the Pool Manager is not on duty and will retain supervisory duties over the scheduled lifeguards. The Assistant Pool Manager will assist in maintaining and upkeep on all OSHA regulations and internal safety policies, procedures, including re-training to ensure the company is enforcing the proper safety policies and regulations to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all hotel guests and staff.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous supervisory experience required. Must have a Certified Lifeguard Certificate with CPR. Awareness of safety concerns and risk management. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate clearly in English. Basic computer skills required. Must be able to work in a 24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Consult with Pool Manager on any matters such as safety, scheduling, lifeguard job performance, and staff relations.
- The Assistant Pool Manager also acts as a lifeguard and must know and follow all duties and responsibilities of the lifeguard job description.
- Understand, comply with, and enforce company and departmental policies and procedures, Nevada State, Clark County and OSHA regulations and standards and other written and verbal instructions relating to the operation of the pools.
- Maintain the pool areas in clean and safe repair for guest and employee safety purposes. Report any unsafe conditions to Pool Manager.
- Supervise the pool lifeguards, ensuring and enforcing compliance with all safety rules and regulations established by the Southern Nevada Health District.
- The Assistant Pool Manager will supervise staff, complete weekly schedules, manage payroll and any other expenditures in the absence of the Pool Manager. All operational changes or modifications will be passed to the Pool Manager at the return of absence.
- Supervise the pool lifeguards, ensuring and enforcing compliance with all safety rules and regulations established by the Southern Nevada Health District.
- Other job-related duties as assigned and instructed by hotel management year-round.

- Assist guests by providing exceptional customer service.
- Assist guests with use of all equipment and amenities.
- Ensure that team members provide guests with great customer service.
- Be visible and available to all guests and team members.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as pool supplies and equipment. Extreme heat conditions outdoors. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, carts, or machines, or with contagious diseases or irritant chemicals under extreme outdoor weather conditions. Employees may be required to use protective clothing or gear. This is a 24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
