MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT: 16 years old
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: S. Nevada Health District Health Card.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Food Expeditoris responsible for assuring that once food orders are cooked that all of the orders for a table are ready at the same time and the trays are setup with any side items that go with the order, e.g., toast, sauces, dressings etc. This enables the food servers to run food to thetable while the hot food is hot and the cold food is cold.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
It is preferred, but not required, that the successful candidate have at least 1 year experience as a Food Expediter, Food Server, or Dining Room Supervisor. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills. Must be team oriented. Must be flexible, adaptable, and self-motivated. Must be able to follow procedures and must be able to work in a busy and at times stressful restaurant atmosphere. Must be able to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Maintain current and accurate information regarding menu items (preparation, seasoning, ingredients, and plate presentation).
- Set up food trays with food items on ticket orders for delivery to tables. If possible, deliver food trays to tables.
- Follow all established food handling health and safety regulations, including, but not limited to, the use of gloves when having direct contact with food items and keeping cleaning towels in a sanitary bucket.
- Maintain a clean and neat working area, including the salad bar area.
- Assure that all items and condiments associated with preparing food items for table delivery are stocked in a timely manner and for the next shift.
- When there are no food orders, assist the Bus Persons and/or Bus Runner Stockers.
- Other job related duties as assigned and instructed by management.

- Cooperate with all departments to ensure equipment is cleaned and available as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities. Must be able to lift moderately heavy food service trays up to 50 pounds to shoulder level on a recurring basis. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities such as above-average agility and dexterity.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions typical of such places as kitchens, restaurants, coolers, etc. Use safe work practices with kitchen equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire, health and safety regulations, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. The work environment involves exposure to second hand smoke in a casino. This is a 24 hour/7 day a week work environment with varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
