This is primarily a Monday to Friday job from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Position Description:

When working in the warehouse, the associate picks, packs, and ships Customer orders following guidelines. When operating as a driver, this position is responsible for driving the company vehicle on a planned route to ensure deliveries are made on time. The driver also assists in the loading and unloading process of goods.

Position Authority:

Driver receives sufficient authority from and is accountable to the Sr. Distribution Supervisor for the successful completion of assigned duties.

Essential Job Functions:

§ Pick, pack and ship customer orders following guidelines, procedures and policies as instructed by Sr. Distribution Team Lead.
 
§ Performs scheduled deliveries in company vehicle in a timely manner following established route as needed.
 
§ Unloads trucks, moves material as required.
 
§ Communicate any potential damages or shortages to Sr. Distribution Team Lead.
 
§ Provides accurate documentation for purchase order receipt and inventory control (Short Form Bill of Lading).
 
§ Assures the confidentiality of customer lists and other sensitive company information.
 
§ Ensures preventive maintenance to vehicles is completed. Notifies supervisor of any maintenance or repairs required to the vehicles.
 
§ Maintains vehicles in clean, safe condition. Always follows all safety procedures. Maintains safe driving record.
 
§ Demonstrates good judgment in investigating and resolving problems.
 
§ Maintains work area and vehicles in a neat and orderly manner.
 
§ Maintains positive relationships with customers and suppliers.
 
§ Seeks guidance and direction as necessary for the performance of the listed responsibilities and duties.
 
§ Adheres to all DOT regulations. Always follows all Safety Procedures.

Knowledge and Education:
 
 
§ High school diploma/GED required.

Beginning Computer skills (MS Word, Excel).

Job Experience:
 
 
§ Commercial driving experience required. Class A CDL driver’s license in good standing.
 
§ Clear MVR. No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years. No moving violations. No DWI/DUI in last 10 years.
 
§ Current DOT Medical Card.

1-year inventory control or shipping or receiving experience.

Skills and Competencies:
 
 
§ Certified to operate equipment in assigned work area.
 
§ Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles, 53’ trailers, auto-shift tractor.
 
§ Alert, focused, and detail oriented. Handles multiple tasks simultaneously.
 
§ Demonstrated understanding of the process flow for assigned work area.
 
§ Maintain a positive attitude with respect to changes in processes and methods.

Possesses written and oral communications skills sufficient to speak clearly and distinctly; write reports; and read work-related instructions, rules, and procedures.
Performs expanded basic arithmetic calculations.

Equipment Used:

Scales, standard office computer & scanner, cargo van, bobtail truck, electric pallet jack, forklift, and 18 wheeler.

Physical Requirements:
 
 
§ Medium lifting (50 lbs.), carrying (50 lbs.), bending, pushing and pulling.
 
§ Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and material.
 
§ Requires the ability to identify and distinguish colors.
 
§ Requires the ability to judge distance and space relationships (i.e. visualize objects of multiple dimensions).
 
§ Requires the ability to drive, sit, and stand for extended periods.

 Well-lighted, climate control, warehouse setting with adequate ventilation.
