IT Administrator

As an IT Site Administrator for Viant, you will perform duties in providing technical leadership, management and direction to assigned site(s). This role includes several traditional IT roles including System Administrator, Networking, Technical support (Break/Fix), Project Management and Business Analysis. This position’s purpose will ensure optimal IT performance, security, and support for all users. In this role you will work independently and act as a key IT stakeholder in site operations, supporting business operations, continuous improvement and innovation projects while maintaining alignment with company IT standards and best practices. You will have the opportunity for personal growth and development from working with other teams and departments in Viant.
This position is intended to mainly support our Laconia, NH site but you will be occasionally required to assist our Wilmington, MA site. (Travel: Up to 25% of the time)
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide after-hours support when required to support business operations.
- Active partner with site operations, working alongside business leaders in developing and maintaining processes and procedures.
- Participant in companywide and site continuous improvement projects and processes.
- Administer and support Microsoft 365 applications such as Teams, OneDrive, Exchange, and SharePoint.
- Manage and maintain our Entra Admin and Active Directory environment, including but not limited to user and group management, security and group policies.
- Perform daily system monitoring of systems and key processes, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, including completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Ensure end-point security hardness by tracking vulnerabilities, applying appropriate patches and upgrades.
- Responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of workstations, laptops, and peripherals including all site hardware, software, UPSs, printers and copiers.
- Provide escalated support to Viant associates, including but not limited to troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Plan and manage IT asset hardware and software lifecycles.
- Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the local network infrastructure.
- Monitor and maintain SLA agreements in help desk system. Analyze data to look for process and service improvements in creating solution articles.
- Responsible for ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of IT help desk requests.
- Manage IT purchasing and inventory of hardware, software, peripherals and other related IT supplies.
- Identify and recommend system, hardware and software improvements/upgrades.
- Maintain vendor contracts, renewals and relations.
- Support and collaborate with IT Team members and business stakeholders to optimize asset availability, productivity and security.
- Participate in companywide IT initiatives and projects.
- Assist with the documentation, training of end-users regarding IT policies, hardware and software usage when necessary.
- Report any security incident or suspected security incident to the Viant Security Incident Response Team.
- Maintain knowledge of Viant corporate IT policies and Viant privacy policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge/Education:
- Associates Degree in Computer Science or other technical field is required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other technical field is preferred
Job Experience:
- 4-7 years system administrator experience required
- 4-6 years of diversified experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- 2-3 years in medical environment preferred
Skills/Competencies:
- Proven verbal and written skills communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group of associates including, executives, managers, vendors and subject matter experts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Must have excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Highly self-motivated, enthusiastic who has the ability to understand and take the “big picture” into account
- Strong aptitude for working with technology, ability to learn and absorb new technologies quickly.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
- Proven documentation skills including policies and procedures.
- Pro-active in identifying potential issues with a proposed process or systems change.
- Hands on experience installing IT hardware, peripherals and software.
- Experience with Windows operating systems, Entra/Active Directory, O365 applications such as OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams etc.
- Experience with VoIP systems, particularly 3CX is a plus.
- Experience in DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLAN’s, and wireless networks.
- Understanding of VMWare virtualized environment.
- Knowledge in Cisco Meraki and UNIFI switching is a plus.
- Knowledge in Endpoint Central is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Work in an office environment with varying amounts of walking, sitting, standing, twisting, and turning
- Long periods of time working on a computer, using hands and fingers extensively
- Able to lift 15 pounds, bending, lifting on occasion
