A successful candidate will be able to perform a full range of duties including:

  • Troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining electro-mechanical & electronic systems in a large-scale production environment. 
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of all factory machinery and the installation of new equipment. 
  • Read and understand technical documentation and use trade mathematics along with precision measuring/testing instruments.
  • Must possess a good working knowledge of sensors and monitoring devices for temperature, flow, pressure, voltage, current and other parameters. Working knowledge of machinery operating software/hardware such as PLC’s and VFD controls and hands on experience with installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing Electrical & Electronic Control Systems and components. 
  • Systems Include: High volume metal processing, high temperature treating, tempering, cutting, grinding, vacuum chamber furnaces, tube drawing, tube shaping, and automated fabrication/inspection equipment. All systems are in near continuous production and approximately half were custom designed in-house.  Process support equipment including boilers, compressors and water treatment facilities, Strong TPM schedule keeps systems in good working order.
  • Mechanical skills: plumbing; soldiering; welding; pipe fitting; precision assembly and disassembly of machinery. Key aspects of basic mechanics to contribute on regular wear replacements and maintenance (bearings, guides, power transmission, heating elements, etc.). Operate cranes and lifts for removal and repositioning of equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance per the schedule for all equipment assigned, to reduce downtime and prevent failures
  • Respond to emergency call-ins on a 24-hour basis and work on a rotational week-end shift

Basic Requirements:

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Industrial electrical experience.
  • Experience in an industrial production setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of Pnuematic, hydraulic, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred.
  • Experience with HVAC a plus.
  • Knowledge of machinery operating software/hardware such as PLC’s and VFD controls and hands on experience with installing, troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing Electrical & Electronic Control Systems and components preferred
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation and use trade mathematics along with precision measuring/testing instruments preferred
  • Working knowledge of sensors and monitoring devices for temperature, flow, pressure, voltage, current and other parameters preferred
  • Must be able to work some weekends and on-call hours as necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to spend time using your hands to handle, control, reach, or feel objects, tools or controls
  • Will spend extended periods of time standing and walking throughout the shop
  • Ability to climb ladders
  • Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, bend and twist
  • Required to maintain all safety training certification which requires abilities to:
  • Wear a respirator
  • Work in confined spaces
  • Climb ladders (not afraid of heights)
  • Wear all PPE required for this position (goggles, gloves, steel-toed shoes, electrical suits, and other safety equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Follow all required safety procedures and policies
