We are looking for a dynamic Procurement Manager to lead a team of 3-5 buyers and drive the entire procurement lifecycle. From managing supplier relationships to negotiating contracts, you’ll be integral in shaping the future of our Procurement function. This role requires both a visionary mindset and hands-on leadership to elevate our procurement team from a support function to a true strategic partner within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement Operations Leadership
    • Organizes and oversees the day-to-day procurement activities, including purchase requisitions, supplier research, RF(x) processes, bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and post-award management activities under optimum deployment of resources.
    • Integrate Procurement in the sales and project management processes and project teams early, during the bid phase.
    • Enable the expansion of our supplier portfolio in the Americas and ensure new supplier requests are rigorously vetted before onboarding. Ensure a continuous management of our supplier base.
    • Manage and optimize local procurement processes, policies, and systems to support the efficient execution of intercompany transactions and external purchases, while maintaining compliance with applicable Group Policies at all times.
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of purchase orders (POs) in SAP ECC and timely and effective communication with all stakeholders.
    • Manage long-range purchase planning and needs analysis to support the fast-paced company’s operations while aiming to optimize project and financial results.
    • Develop and implement KPI Reporting to drive the continuous improvement of Procurement Performance.
    • Become a value-adding member of the Global Procurement organization and act as an interface between the local Procurement team and the global, cross-Product Line Procurement network.
  2. Strategic Procurement
    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance supplier sourcing, qualification, and performance and increase spend under management.
    • Conduct market research to identify cost-saving opportunities and alternative suppliers.
    • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives for technical and engineered components, consumables, and services. Lead complex contractual and price negotiations and/or guide the buyers responsible on assigned initiatives to secure project targets with optimum conditions.
  3. Governance and Compliance
    • Establish, document, optimize, and enforce effective procurement policies and procedures in alignment with global governance programs.
    • Provide training and guidance to the team and other stakeholders on procurement policies and compliance requirements.
    • Mitigate risks by ensuring POs and contracts include appropriate legal and commercial terms and conditions and are actively managed by the Procurement team post-award.
  4. Supplier Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with external suppliers and MAN Product Centers. Evaluate supplier's capabilities and capacities while implementing plans to ensure adequate support of our operations.
    • Oversee supplier performance management, including KPIs, quality, delivery, and compliance.
    • Resolve disputes and negotiate favorable outcomes for the organization.
    • Leverage supplier expertise and/or technology to harness improvements in reducing total cost of ownership. Collaborate with Global Category Management on the optimization of our group-wide buying power by reviewing the financial, quality, pricing, service, and availability level of suppliers.
  5. Team Leadership and Development
    • Coach, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, customer service, and professional growth.
    • Set clear goals and expectations, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback.
    • Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team and across department boundaries.
    • Train and upskill the procurement team to support the adoption of Procurement best practices.
  6. Procurement Transformation and Change Management
    • Lead the transformation of the procurement function from a clerical, data-entry role to a value-adding strategic operation.
    • Define and implement best practices for cradle-to-grave procurement processes.
    • Identify and execute opportunities to streamline procurement operations, reduce cycle times and low-value adding tasks, and enhance stakeholder satisfaction.
    • Drive change management initiatives by engaging stakeholders across functions, ensuring alignment and buy-in for new processes and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS) preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in procurement, preferably with a global turbomachinery or engine OEM, with a minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience developing and managing a high-performing team.
  • Proven track record of managing the entire procurement lifecycle, including strategic sourcing and supplier management.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement governance, policies, and compliance in complex, globally operating companies.
  • Proficient in SAP ECC, Microsoft 365, and other procurement tools.
