Summary: The Turbomachinery Instrumentation & Control Engineer is responsible for managing electrical and automation engineering, including the instrumentation and packaging of turbomachinery. This role encompasses the design, specification, and implementation of EI&C components. Additionally, the I&C Engineer collaborates with customers, suppliers, and various internal departments, reviews and assesses customer specifications, and offers technical solutions and guidance to clients.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee electrical and automation engineering, including the instrumentation and packaging of turbomachinery. This includes designing, specifying, and executing EI&C components as a subproject manager.
- Coordinate internally and externally with customers, suppliers, and other disciplines.
- Review and evaluate customer specifications, providing technical advice and solutions.
- Develop and review purchase order specifications based on customer requirements, standards, and internal regulations.
- Prepare assembly and commissioning documents.
- Participate in technical negotiations with suppliers and customers.
- Develop and standardize components and assemblies related to electrical engineering, instrumentation, and automation.
- Support the commissioning of the scope of delivery.
- Achieve goals for external packaging to fulfill project contractual obligations.
- Implement legal and operational requirements (e.g., HSS) as part of project management.
- Coordinate customer inspection and testing activities with the project PM.
- Coordinate MAN inspections and witness testing with the project PM.
- Assist in resolving non-compliance issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with focus on EMSR and/or automation technology.
Experience/Qualifications/Skills:
- Minimum five (5) year's experience in Turbomachinery packaging for complex projects.
- Ability to think and act across departments.
- Proficiency in explosion protection and functional safety is highly desirable.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively, with strong analytical skills and a systematic, methodical approach.
- Extensive experience with tools such as COMOS, SAP, MS Office.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant international standards and guidelines (MRL, ANSI, API, VGB, etc.)
- Willingness to travel globally as needed.
- Excellent communication skills.
