DIRECTOR OPERATIONS PINS-HC48380 PIN MANAGEMENT
SUMMARY
The PINS Director is responsible for production, delivery and quality of highly engineered aerospace fasteners, utilizing machining, forging, thermal treatment and coating operations. In addition to these responsibilities, the Director will also be responsible for safety, environmental results, efficiencies, and effectiveness of the assigned production unit and/or groups. The individual will act as a senior management representative in the assigned production units and ensures that company policies and guidelines are accurately interpreted and implemented. Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Minimize process variation and maximizes efficiency of both existing and new product manufacturing process.

- Ensures customer service levels are met and that delivery/quality Key Production Indicators (KPI) are tracked and communicated.
- Responsible for staff development, assessments, and ensures new team members selected to join the organization have the training and development necessary to integrate them into our continuous improvement culture.
- Establishes goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to assigned production units to be flowed down from P&L, HSE, Customer Service Performance, and Quality goals that are communicated and tracked on a regular basis to ensure production group activity aligns with production unit goals.
- Works with inter-departmental or cross functional staff to resolve issues with machinery, product quality, product development, Health, Safety, and Environmental, and continuous improvement.
- Develops, implements, and tracks clear action plans to improve agreed upon deficiencies with the use of problem solving techniques, such as 8D corrective actions, statistics, capability studies (SPC), Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM).
- Plans and develops capital equipment forecasts using inputs from others, in order to achieve safety improvements, increased productivity, and optimizes our core skills.
- Manages professional and non professional staff to achieve their goals through goal setting, performance appraisals, counseling, and team building.
- Must be able to prioritize and manage resources to achieve projects results even when time and/or resources are constrained.
- Ensure quality management system is adhered to and improved as a part of our continuous improvement effort.
- Organize and maintain high standards of performance, quality and customer service within all departments.
- Responsible for implementing company policies and guidelines as prescribed by management
- Supports, leads, and adheres to all business accreditations, such as AS9100, ISO14001, and others as acquired or required.
- Ensure all people placed under their assigned area of responsibility, or all persons who may be affected by equipment or processes placed under their responsibility are complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local and State government, and LISI Aerospace policies, procedures and plans.
- Responsible for and ensuring that all employees attend all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
- Responsible for ensuring employees in assigned area are aware of their requirement to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly and/or indirectly supervises Supervisors/Managers, and other team members assigned to the production units and production groups; Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the assigned production units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the HSE responsibility, organization's policies and applicable laws; Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering background preferred) from a four-year college or university. Master’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in the Aerospace Industry or Manufacturing environment preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years related experience required or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Customer interface/interaction experience related to understanding of customer specifications, quality and satisfaction required.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Must be able to write accurate reports, business correspondence, technical manuals, and policies, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with highly complex mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract concrete variables.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of Computer software programs for word processing, spreadsheets, presentation such as but not limited to Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Access, Project Plan or corrective Action system.

Safety and Environmental
The responsibilities of the position include compliance with company and governmental safety, environmental and hazardous materials regulations and procedures. Employee will be required to wear personal safety equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, or proper footwear PPE in specified areas.
Fully responsible for implementing safety and environmental rules within area of responsibility. Must uphold all safety standards and have in-depth knowledge of safety. Must be a coach and model safety excellence by wearing prescribed PPE and ensuring employees under his span of control are adhering to all safety rules. Has ultimate responsibility and authority to stop production if any hazard is present that may affect the safety of the employees in the shift.
- Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, instructions, guidelines and golden rules
- Ensure that the HSE procedures and instructions of his/her department are always adapted and updated
- Ensure the acquisition and maintenance of HSE skills of its employees in relation to the tasks performed by its teams
- Ensure that the equipment under his/her responsibility is in good condition and operates safely. If this is not the case, he/she will ensure that protective measures are taken and/or that the equipment is consigned
- Identify and deal with HSE risk situations during the appropriate PSM
- Manage emergency situations with the help of the fist aiders and first response team members
- Relay and lead HSE communication within his/her teams
- Ensure that the necessary resources are available to guarantee the preservation of the health and safety of the people in his/her department
- Ensure that the necessary resources are made available to guarantee the limitation of the environmental impact of his/her department
- Within his/her scope, implement actions to achieve the site's HSE objectives
- Participate to the HSE management review
