SUMMARY
The Electrician III individual performs a variety of electronic and/or electrical repairs and troubleshooting on manufacturing machines and/or facility premises. Responsible to performs plant and facility construction wiring and preventive maintenance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Utilizes work orders to indicate necessary maintenance repair.
- Performs preventive maintenance on machines and associated equipment, in order to comply with company safety policies and procedures and manufacturer suggested services procedures.
- Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
- Locates, installs, maintains, test and repairs electronic equipment and circuits by working from procedures, specifications, blueprints, wiring and schematic diagrams, verbal and written instructions and following established electronic practices.
- Ability to design, modify and integrate new electronic equipment changes.
- Ability to teach lower level Electricians.
- Understands and installs/repairs PLC controls and interface.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
- Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
- Troubleshoot malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as Maintenance Mechanic and/or operators to diagnose malfunction.
- Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, contacts, control panels, starters, and positions sensing devices.
- Removes and replaces electric motors and bearings.
- Can plan for and oversee complex plant infrastructure such as additions or replacement of campus transformers.
- Modifies existing electrical distribution to facilitate new production techniques under the direction of the engineering department.
- Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, bends, routes and suspends EMT conduit, flex and other pipe, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
- Can design electrical distribution and size breaker panels.
- Designs and calculates circuit resistances and voltage drops.
- Understands characteristics of all types of lighting throughout plant and their appropriate usage and measurement.
- Understands plant wide high voltage electrical grid and distribution.
- Can install new electrical panels, including inside components and circuit breakers.
- Reads and understands electrical schematic diagrams.
- Can change fuses and other fault disconnect apparatus.
- Installs various lighting throughout plant.
- Understands and can install low voltage telephone, network and control wiring.
- Understands the National Electrical Code and adheres to it throughout the plant.
- Does electrical wiring to new or remodeled facilities.
- Supports other general maintenance activities as assigned.
- Understands the needs and requirements of job permitting and inspection.
- Follow all department and company measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
- Employee responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
- Employee responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
- Employee required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.
- Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
May assist in the coaching and process teaching of trainees or less experience personnel under the supervision of management.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIRMENTS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); certification in electrical and/or electronic trade experience required;
- Minimum of 5 years of combination of related manufacturing experience and electrical training;
- Ability to learn to read, interpret manufacturers drawings, blueprints and written instructions.
- Hands on Experience in the following areas:
- Industrial Electrical Technician or High Voltage Electrician in a manufacturing environment.
- Allen Bradley PLCs, (PLC2, PLC5 & PLC500) and/or 3-phase and single phase power distribution experience required.
- Pneumatic, hydraulic systems, conveyors & high speed manufacturing equipment and/or experience with Campus wide high voltage electrical grid and distribution systems and lighting.
- Familiarity with Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have ability top learn Work Order program and Word Processing software.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Ability to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Safety and Environmental
The responsibilities of the position include compliance with company and governmental safety, environmental and hazardous materials regulations and procedures. Employee will be required to wear personal safety equipment such as safety glasses, hearing protection, or proper footwear PPE in specified areas. The employee must have a working knowledge of safety standards related to machinery operation use (including lock out / tag out) and machine guarding.
