PRODUCTION SPECIALTY LEVEL II - B Shift
SUMMARY
The Specialty Machine Level II position is to set-up, troubleshoot and operate specialty machines to achieve all company targets and standards. Specialty machines include Multi-spindle, Davenport, Index, CNC, Euro-turns. Specialty II position must maintain the expected level of competency in accordance with skill assessments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation for disabilities may be made for one or more of the following:
- Independently sets up, trouble shoot and operates multi-spindle, Index or CNC machines. Ensures set-up is to specification on machine to product various types of parts.
- Moves controls to cycle machine through settings, stopping machine and adjusting to positions and machine controls to allow for operating factors such as timing, and clearance between moving parts.
- Installs and adjust specific tooling as needed.
- Starts machine(s), observes operation, and inspects first run and sample work piece(s) to ensure machine(s) conform to specifications.
- May assist operators with machining operation, techniques and quality and productivity as required.
- Performs Statistical Process Control (SPC) checks per specification and acts in accordance with output.
- Reads blueprint or job order for product specification such as dimensions, tolerance, number or parts to be formed and tooling instruction on type tooling required.
- Inspects parts using micrometers, gages and other measuring tools, to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Performs record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and follows safety regulations.
- Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations set forth by Federal, Local, and State government, LISI Aerospace, and HSE Procedures.
- Responsible for attending all training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times.
- Required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately.

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIRMENTS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Working experience in fastener manufacturing environment
- Basic knowledge of multi-spindle machinery and procedures
- Working knowledge with quality and SPC.
- A minimum of 4-6 years’ experience or equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and use shop and measuring tools.
Language Skills
Ability to read, comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to perform simple written instructions, correspondence, or memos. Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Knowledge of basic shop math. Ability to calculate in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems by data collection, establish facts and follow instructions in written and basic diagram formats. Ability to multi-task variety of problem solving and deal with several internal and external situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic computer skills and departmental applications: SPC & Shop Floor System.
