SR. HR Business Partner,  Central US

As a critical member of the HR team, the Sr. HR Business Partner is a key leader and has the unique opportunity to support the company by being a problem solver. This is a strategic role that partners with leadership to influence key business initiatives, accelerate business, foster collaboration and simplify complexity. This role is based out of the Central US and will support multiple business units under the Legence brand representing over 1,000 employees.

  • Be a challenger, be a collaborator, and be dedicated to ensuring business unit alignment with HR Leadership and broader company vision, including its current and long-term business objectives.
  • Invest in relationships and work to get a deep understanding of the business and leadership priorities, including business strategies, P&L, and key initiatives that drive the bottom line.
  • Partner with leadership to forge strong relationships. Speak straight and communicate with impact utilizing strong collaboration and influencing skills.
  • Share information while partnering with the HR shared services team to support a wide range of projects across HR Management, Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Compensation and Benefits, HRIS and Payroll.
  • Listen to understand and be influential in balancing business unit needs with overall company vision and initiatives to protect the interests of the organization as a whole.

Skills & Competencies

  • Must be strategic minded, able to see the big picture, and be future focused. Must have a proven track record of operating in a fast-paced HR environment, with aptitude across the entire range of HR functions.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate and influence leadership at all levels.
  • Developed strategic, business, and financial acumen.
  • Strong people focus and ability to collaborate with and support the organization to drive new business.
  • Strong project and change management skills, with the ability to act as a change agent.
  • Learning agility, adaptability, flexibility of approach, and the capability to upskill quickly.
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity, and navigate through a complex, multi-faceted organization with multiple stakeholders, and adapt to changing business priorities.
  • Must be comfortable living in the grey and not be completely process driven.
  • Solution oriented mindset and a creative problem solver who can operate in a sometimes resource constrained environment.
  • Expertise in effectively leading, coaching, advising and influencing employees and leadership.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and proactively identify and resolve issues as they arise, with a risk and compliance mindset.
  • Ability to travel 25% is a must
  • Proficiency in the complete Microsoft Office suite of applications 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience working in a developed HR environment
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation & benefits, employee relations, training & development, talent acquisition, HR compliance, etc.
  • Experience leading HR function preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
