Position Summary
Reporting to the plant Controller, the Financial Analyst for manufacturing operations on the finance team will provide financial support for manufacturing sites in all aspects of finance to include, product structure creation and maintenance, inventory analysis, variance analysis, and review of other production related transactions. The analyst will also assist with month end close, budget preparation, capital review, forecasting. This team member will gather input data for cost analysis from cross-functional teams, working closely with Sales and Operations departments. This role requires strong analytical and math skills to pull data together into an accurate and defendable cost roll up. Team member will be proactive in data analysis, process improvement and being a strategic business partner to multiple functions.
Primary Functions
- Bill of Material creation and maintenance for Greer and PR plants.
- Perform inventory analysis on cycle count variances.
- Review and maintain job closings ensuring that jobs are processed correctly and accurately.
- Communicate regularly with the plant controller, plant manager and plant support staff.
- Travel as needed to familiarize resources and procedures.
- Support operational facilities throughout close and forecasting process.
- Assist with month end close activities to include accounting entries and reconciliations.
- Create customer invoicing and manage collections through Lockstep and other means.
- Support continuous improvement and lean activities.
- Challenge existing standard cost information for continued tightness of standards.
- Stay updated regarding manufacturing changes to help drive improved financial results.
- Update system cost information to reflect new processes and equipment that will impact product cost.
- Keep models updated for target margins and other strategic initiatives.
- Automate and eliminate manual work through Power BI and other data models.
- Build smart models allowing quicker and accurate decisions across various financial aspects of the business.
- Ability not to accept the current processes as good enough with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Assist plant admin as backup for purchasing and other purchasing related items.
- Assist plant admin as backup for processing customer invoices when needed.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/ accounting/ business or related.
- Prior cost accounting experience a plus.
- Experience in variance analysis review a plus.
- 2+ years of prior experience in finance/manufacturing and technical knowledge.
- 2+ years' experience in data collection and analysis for financial review.
- Epicor ERP and quoting software knowledge/experience a plus but not essential.
- Big data (Power BI among other) experience a plus but not essential
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting and data model building a plus.

- Proficiency in statistical analysis to gather operational data that will be used in cost rollup.

- Ability to utilize various personal computer programs within a LAN environment, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ERP systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, as well as to analyze problems and make independent judgments to initiate corrective action and resolution.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration capabilities.
- Strong task and detail orientation, awareness of urgency in communication, while displaying diplomacy in day-to-day interactions.
- Excellent communication skills, oral and written. Must also develop and deliver concise presentations to Senior Management level.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting at workstation approximately 80 percent or work time.
- Standing and walking approximately 20 percent or work time.
- Located in Greer SC plant office, potential for partial remote work.
- Typical office environment.
- Must be able to travel 10 percent of work time.
- Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.
- Ability to travel and work in manufacturing atmospheres in various climate regions.
