The Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for planning, assisting and coordinating transportation operations while maintaining a high level of service and responding to inquiries and concerns
Position Responsibilities
- Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external parties (e.g. staff, parents, students, etc.) for the purpose of providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction.
- Assist with activities related to scheduling, dispatching, routing and tracking transportation vehicles from on-site, inbound and outbound fleet.
- Assist with management of incoming/outgoing communications, including email and phone
- Sends daily reports to appropriate parties
- Use software tools, including CRM, for scheduling, maintenance and other applicable applications.
- Make recommendations to Transportation Supervisor for cost savings and efficiency improvements by analyzing data and identifying trends/opportunities.
- Ensure that transportation group provides excellent internal and external customer service.
- The position requires the ability to plan and also respond quickly to develop and execute transportation solutions.
- Adhering to all company policies, proceduresand business ethic codes
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skillsand Abilities
- High School Degree or equivalent experience
- Ability to read, understand and comply with the rules and regulations of the State and Federal DOT
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interface with a variety of audiences, including phone and email etiquette.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, ever-changing organization
- A superior work ethic
- Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- Bilingual
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Schedule will be Tuesday through Saturday, 2pm to 10pm. The ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
- Should be able to sit at a desk and computer screen in a shared office environment for 8+ hours per day.
- This role is considered essential and may be required to work during weather emergencies or business closures in order to meet operational requirements
