The Athletic Trainer, Summer 2025 will be responsible for providing Athletic Training Services to student athletes under the direction of the Head of the Athletic Training in accordance with state athletic training practices.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Treat athletic injuries including prevention, assessment, treatment and reconditioning
  • Maintain accurate records of injuries, treatments and provide forms as appropriate
  • Conduct an initial assessment of an athlete's injury or illness in order to provide emergency or continued care, and to determine whether they should be referred to physicians for definitive diagnosis and treatment.
  • Assist with athletic training covering multiple sports with athletes ranging from 8-18 years old
  • Apply protective or injury preventive devices such as tape, bandages, splints or braces to body parts such as ankles, fingers, or wrists.
  • Assess and report the progress of recovering athletes to coaches and physicians.
  • Communicate with parents to obtain consent and update regarding injury status
  • Evaluate athletes' readiness to play, and provide participation clearances when necessary and warranted.
  • Responsible for following all HIPAA regulations and guidelines
  • Responsible for following all OSHA guidelines
  • Management of heat index and weather conditions
  • Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • National Athletic Trainer’s Association Board of Training certification
  • Florida Athletic Training License
  • Liability Insurance
  • Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • CPR/ First Aid certification

 

Preferred Skills

  • Bilingual
  • High School Athletic Training experience

 

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.
  • Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.
  • Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
