Senior Salesforce Administrator
Position Summary
As the Senior Salesforce Administrator, you will hold primary responsibility for the day-to-day operational leadership for our Salesforce platform, maintaining its technical scale, resilience, integrity, security, and performance. This role is pivotal in providing hands-on guidance, leveraging industry expertise, Salesforce knowledge, and technical acumen to drive key organizational initiatives. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams spanning sales and service operations, marketing, sales, product, and technology, you will operationalize the successful delivery of end-to-end digital customer experiences. Your primary focus will be the updating, optimizing, and maintaining of Salesforce solutions tailored to our business needs.
This role presents a foundational opportunity to shape and elevate our Salesforce discipline. You will establish the operating pattern, standards and practices surrounding our administration of Salesforce products in coordination with the Sales & Service Operations, Product and Technology teams and external implementation partners, including Salesforce itself. The ideal candidate possesses a profound understanding of administration in the Salesforce ecosystem, especially Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud. The ideal candidate will have an affinity for solid development operations methodology, data quality, testing, and observability. Equally important are the communication and collaboration skills required to align technical, operational and leadership stakeholders with plans, initiatives and new ways of working.
Reporting to the Lead Salesforce Architect and partnering closely with cross-functional leaders, you will help drive the evolution of our business and technical capabilities across the customer experience. Your efforts will ensure a resilient, scalable Salesforce implementation aligned with our ambitious business growth objectives.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop defined workflow and operating patterns for interaction with Sales Operations, Sales and Marketing team around day-to-day administration of Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud and Service Cloud
- Partner with internal teams to ensure effective and clear RACI surrounding ‘superuser’ vs. administrator tasks.
- Partner with managed services development and administration resources to execute administration tasks.
- Work with Engineering and Data Science & Analytics teams to ensure performant inbound and outbound data integrations (Kafka, Airflow).
- User and license management including new user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, permissions, public groups, OWD, sharing rules
- Salesforce configuration changes, including (but not limited to): Flow, assignment rules, approval processes, fields, page layouts, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, actions, custom settings, mobile administration, dashboards and reports
- Understanding of, user acceptance testing and deployment of Triggers and Apex code
- Design, implementation and maintenance of test coverage and deployment standards
- Maintenance and hygiene surrounding and Sandbox environment management
- Identification of poorly used, underused or unused platform features
- Own the communication of any platform changes to end users and stakeholders
- Data management tasks to improve data quality using rules and automation
- System maintenance, including Security Reviews, Release Updates, Health Check, and Optimizer
- Serve as escalation for Platform Support and end user tickets
- Monitor and improve user adoption with new user and ongoing user training
- Maintain technical documentation
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of strong Salesforce product knowledge and at least 5+ years’ of Salesforce Administration hands-on experience with Sales Cloud, Service Cloud or Marketing Cloud, multi-cloud experience strongly preferred. At least 2 years of professional services or consulting experience involving Salesforce.
- Salesforce Proficiency: Deep understanding of the Salesforce platform, including its capabilities, data model, security model, and integration options. Proven track record of successful administration and platform maturation work on some combination of Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Marketing Cloud.
- Technical Expertise: Functional understanding and familiarity with Salesforce Integration Architecture, Data Architecture, and Management, Apex, and SOQL, Triggers, Custom Objects, Lightning Flows, Lightning, and LWC (Lightning Web Components).
- Continuous Learning: Ability to stay abreast of and leverage capabilities in the latest Salesforce releases, features, and functionalities, as well as the broader Salesforce ecosystem.
- B2C Commerce Knowledge: Expertise in B2C commerce practices, including customer journeys, to map out and enhance customer experiences using Salesforce technologies.
