Camp Counselor, Summer 2025
The Camp Counselor, Summer 2025, will be responsible for monitoring, enforcing, and following up on Academy rules, regulations, and policies, ensuring a safe and secure environment for campers. This position may be during the day or evening and will likely include weekend shifts.
Position Responsibilities

Serve as a responsible, adult presence, providing guidance and support in the residence halls, Campus Center and common areas for campers aged 10-18 yrs

Serve as an authority figure as well as providing guidance and support for campers.

Serve as central communication liaison between parents and campers, and when needed, between coaches and administration

Assist with the campers residential and activity experience

Monitor students in dorms and throughout campus.

Help ensure the well-being of campers, collaborating with our Health Services Team as needed

Assist campers with day-to-day needs
-
Responsible for being an active part of camper’s activities including planning and execution.

Responsible for promoting a positive healthy environment for the campers
-
Develop and practice personal leadership skills
-
Adhering to all company policies, procedures and business ethic codes
-
Assist with camper transport to and from activity opportunities including both on and off campus excursions
-
Collaborate and communicate emergency response and crisis management plans for various situations including weather, lockdown, student illness, injury, etc.

Communicate and follow up on conduct expectations of all campers
-
Communicate openly and regularly with Student Life Leadership about camper successes and concerns
-
Assist with orientation and acclimation of campers to campus life
-
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-
Bachelor’s degree in process in related area or Bachelor’s degree completed in related area
-
Strong customer service skills.

Experience with PC’s including MS Office
-
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills
-
Bilingual
-
Experience in educational, sports or related field
-
Summer camp experience
-
Proficient with computer and web applications
-
First Aid and CPR Certification
-
Experience in counseling, crisis response, and mediation
-
Experience as collegiate athlete
Physical Demands and Work Environment
-
Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs.

Should be able to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time.

Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc.

Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required
