Program Coordinator, HSI Wild Animals
The general salary range for the position is $53,000-$62,000. Salary offers will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, skills, training and education.
Humane World for Animals, a global leader in animal advocacy and protection, is seeking a Program Coordinator, International, Wild Animals This position is responsible to coordinate and assist with work on international wildlife initiatives, including participation in strategic planning; supporting and leading research, data analysis, and written reports for the HSI Wildlife team; to serve as the primary coordination point for external and internal communications, including responding to requests for information externally; to monitor and support department activities, including budgets, contracts, team work and programmatic progress; and to provide logistical support for the Wildlife team.
Responsibilities:
• Plans, coordinates, and organizes internal and external meetings, both virtually and in-person, and international meetings, conferences, and workshops;
• Provides strategic planning coordination and data analysis and research support to International Wildlife campaigns;
• Creates and maintains department resources and materials and monitors programmatic progress, including managing workplans and reporting forms; responds to inquiries from supporters and other stakeholders, researching issues or connecting to other employees or organizations as needed; maintains budget and records pertaining to the department expenditures and transaction;
• Helps to develop and implement Internation Wild Animals department’s consumer-facing initiatives, in areas such as ethical wildlife tourism; this includes supporting development of strategic objectives and devising join work plans, and coordinating the communications and marketing strategy in cooperation with the wider team and institutional departments;
• Provides guidance and mentorship for interns and assists with developing procedures, responding to applications, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, work assignments, and performance evaluations;
• Performs other duties or responsibilities, as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in animal science, Biology, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, Nonprofit Management, or another related field; or equivalent work experience, required;
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in international advocacy, international operations, or another international related field, required;
• Excellent communication (written and oral) skills with the ability to translate information into a meaningful, understandable context and message across various cultures;
• Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as the ability to handle complex situations and demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving;
• Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills with demonstrated flexibility and the ability to manage multiple and often changing priorities and issues of varying complexity, while meeting time sensitive deadlines and deliverables;
• Ability to work both independently in a remote setting and as an effective team member;
• Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally on a limited basis;
• Proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite.;
• Ability to speak another language in addition to English preferred but not required;
• Strong interest in wildlife protection issues preferred.
