Job Summary

Under the supervision of the General Manager with a dotted line reporting to the Facilities Manager, the General Maintenance / Systems Technician position is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance duties including building maintenance, inspections, PM’s on facilities and grounds, general cleanup, and running errands.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Resolve issues as quickly and practically as possible.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain the automated crane and conveyor systems
  • Perform scheduled PMs on the crane and conveyors per TGW schedules
  • Inspect and maintain fire extinguishers as well as general and emergency lighting.
  • Contact for forklift and alarm system inspections.
  • Maintain general plumbing.
  • Maintain interior and exterior aesthetics of the building and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Inspect the emergency generator weekly and inform the Distribution Manager of any safety concerns.
  • Maintain planned maintenance inspection reports and lift truck operations shift inspection reports.

 

Other Functions

  • Deliver and pick up parts and maintenance supplies as instructed.
  • Maintain and inspect safety kits and inventory ensuring proper documentation on the appropriate forms.
  • Escalate through the company chain of command any issues that are restricting your ability to maximize our equipment uptime.
  • Manage spare parts inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications (skills, knowledge, experience)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical degree in Controls Engineering, Automation, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5 years of building maintenance required.
  • 3 years of electromechanical troubleshooting and repair experience with material handling conveyor and AS/RS experience preferred.
  • PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff) preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s license with an acceptable driving record and adequate insurance is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and follow directions.
  • Must be able to perform duties on a ladder/scissor’s lift/forklift.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 lbs. and stand/ walk for up to 12 hours.
  • Forklift experience preferred
