The Lead mold maintenance technician is responsible for evaluating, maintaining, and repairing molds. The technician will also assist the Mold Maintenance Supervisor with assigning work and assisting the Mold Maintenance Technicians. 
                    
What You Will Do:                

  • Assist Mold Maintenance Supervisor with the Mold Staging sheet (daily work log).                  
  • Responsible for cleaning all injection molding tools at the end of each production run.                    
  • Completely field strip mold according to PM schedule.                    
  • Make repairs or replace components as needed
  • Notifying management of repairs or replacements beyond in-house capability.                    
  • All work is to be documented in tooling files and computer databases and copies of Corrective Action Follow Up Reports are to be supplied to the Tool Room Manager and/or to the Tool Room Lead.                    
  • Test and repair problems related to heaters, manifolds, and torpedoes.                    
  • Assist Mold Maintenance Technicians with their daily duties, and resolve problems as they arise. 
  • Clean all injection molding tools at the end of each production run.                    
  • Completely field strip mold according to PM schedule.

Success in This Role Will Require:    

  • Must be able to be forklift certified at HellermannTyton.                    
  • Guide coworkers on their daily tasks effectively.          
  • Assist in training of new Mold Maintenance Technicians.
  • Ability to work independently.    

What You'll Bring (Qualifications):               

  • High school diploma or equivalent required                 
  • Above average mechanical aptitude                    
  • 1+ years experience in a machine shop with the ability to read blueprints.       
  • Ability to use precision measuring and tool room equipment (mills, lathes, drill press, surface grinders, saws to fabricate parts, and EDM machines).
  • Experience working with injection molding tools.         
  • Prior forklift experience preferred.           
  • Aptitude for very close tolerance precision work.                    
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.                    
  • Available for daily and weekend overtime work required.                  
  • Must be able to stand/walk for a minimum of 8 hours.
