Day in the Life of a Staff Coordinator

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for creating and managing the Nursing Department schedule to ensure adequate staffing and optimize resource utilization. This role involves preparing and submitting accurate payroll data for the Nursing Department team, collaborating closely with Nursing Leadership and Human Resources.

 

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, occasional weekends

 

Staff Coordinator Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage staff schedules per established policies
  • Track and record paid leave and other leave types accurately
  • Monitor resident and staffing census to achieve staffing targets
  • Maintain accurate records, including schedules and payroll data
  • Optimize payroll resources and meet financial objectives
  • Build rapport with team members, promoting inclusivity and collaboration
  • Attend mandatory meetings and training
  • Uphold the organization's core values of compassion, wellness, excellence, and empowerment

 

Staff Coordinator Qualifications:

  • Minimum one (1) year of related scheduling/payroll experience in a healthcare setting
  • Associate’s degree in business or a healthcare-related field or SRNA certification required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Dayforce preferred
  • Current CPR/Basic Life Support certification required (training provided)
