SUMMARY

The VDC Coordinator is responsible for assisting in supporting all VDC projects and departments in Haydon Building Corp. This includes, but is not limited to, running clash detection reports, conducting coordination meetings, trade modeling and reality capture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Model, coordinate and produce dimensioned construction documents for one or more disciplines using Revit, AutoCAD and/or other authoring software.
  • Provide VDC/BIM quality assurance by reviewing project BIM standards, execution plans and design drawings for completeness and accuracy.
  • Participate in project VDC coordination meetings: spatial coordination of disciplines, gathering all disciplines BIM models including civil and performing coordination tasks in Navisworks, BIM360 Glue and/or other coordination software.
  • Conduct clash-detection and conflict resolution with the VDC and Operations teams.
  • Assist VDC staff in creating and implementing project execution plans, templates and standards and ensuring adherence to them.
  • Coordinate electronic file and information exchange through various online platforms.
  • Coordinate and communicate with VDC and Operations teams to resolve issues and request information from design teams.
  • Assist VDC and Operations teams in reviewing and resolving field issues during construction and updating the model and drawings accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience

Associate degree in drafting, construction management, computing, engineering technologies or a similar type degree, is preferred.  Minimum 3 years in VDC, design and/or construction industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience considered. Working knowledge and hands-on experience creating, manipulating, and coordinating Revit models required. Working knowledge of Navisworks for visualization, clash detection, and quantification required.  Working knowledge and hands-on experience creating, processing, and manipulating 3-D point clouds desired.  Working knowledge and hands-on 3-D laser scanning experience desired.  Working knowledge of unmanned aerial systems and Part 107 Certification desired. Working knowledge and hands-on VR and AR experience desired.  Professional certifications are a plus but not required.  Additional software platforms such as Infraworks, 3DS Max or BIM360 Glue are a plus but not required.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Project required. Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic as well as uphold company values and demand the highest standard of conduct from self and others.   

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to type, handle, or feel and talk or hear.  The employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
