We are looking for a Mechanic to perform various responsibilities including but not limited to cleaning/polishing molds, process inspection, disassembling/assembling molds, and mold installation. You will be the point person on Third shift for any machine and mold maintenance tasks. You will take instruction from the Production Manager on priority duties on a day-to-day basis, following the production schedule to ensure the correct molds are prepared for installation. You will also need to be self-motivated to take on daily tasks that are essential to keeping production running efficiently. This role is essential to ensuring production runs are processing efficiently according to stringent QC standards.

The area of responsibility for this role is wide and thus requires knowledge of various injection molding processes. The ideal candidate has injection molding maintenance experience with specific knowledge on Polystyrene and Polypropylene processing. The Injection Molding Mechanic will be called upon to organize and manage their time efficiently with/without instruction and will need to have problem solving capabilities. 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Perform general cleaning and maintenance tasks for all molds

Work from engineering drawings and specifications, quality assurance standards and test proceduresIn process inspection skills mandatoryBasic knowledge of disassembly, assembly, and preventative maintenance of molds and machinesCommunicate effectively to participate in problem solving discussionsMedical clean room or labware production is a plusInstallation of molds, troubleshooting, processing knowledgeGeneral knowledge of plastic materials and processes
