Equipment Operator Crusher Assistant

Experience & abilities you will need:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• One to three months related experience and or training.
• Mechanical background to perform basic maintenance on crusher equipment.
• Knowledge of operational and preventive maintenance on quarry equipment.
• Take initiative and function effectively without immediate supervision.

Work Hours:

Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

What you will do:

Perform lubrications, inspections on crusher equipment, operate the equipment in the absence of the crusher operator, keep the crusher area and equipment clean, and clear of debris and in good working order.

Main Responsibilities: 

• Monitor conveyors and other moving components not visible to the operator.
• Check flow of materials to and from conveyors, chutes, pumps or storage bins.
• Check all belts, head pulleys, dust collectors, oil levels in the rock breaker and the B-6 fan, dust collector fan bearings and V belts each day.
• Adjust equipment such as screens, conveyors and fans to control or vary the size or grade of product or to maintain uniform flow of materials.
• Communicate with crusher operator and inform him of potential problems.
• Operate crusher in the operator absence; prod, break or discard rock to prevent plugging.
• Clean, lubricate and perform maintenance on equipment; clean all floors; clean rock from around belts.
• Grease the rock breaker daily; grease the B-12 fan bearing once a month.
• Keep records of materials processed.
• Assist in maintenance of crusher, hammer mill, screens and chutes.
• Work where and when needed as directed by plant supervisors to meet plant needs.
